So what could be better than a gorilla on the cover of a comic book? Why, a Bizarro gorilla on the cover of a comic book! A Bizarro gorilla puts the "kookie" to the Kong, as the blurb on ADVENTURE COMICS #295 makes plain. This issue dates from 1962, four years after the Bizarros were created by writer Otto Binder in SUPERBOY #68. In 1962, artist John Forte also marked his fourth year since he joined the DC Comics roster; he would die three years subsequently. Forte wasn't the first artist to draw the Bizarros, but in some ways, he was the Bizarro artist summa cum laude, drawing the "Tales from the Bizarro World" backup feature in ADVENTURE.
